2019 Met Gala - Manhattandress

2019 Met Gala

Every year on the first Monday in May celebrities, designers and models all gather at one of the biggest fashion events of the year. The Met Gala is held annually in New York City as fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.

Each year the Met Gala has a new theme. This year the theme was Camp: Notes on Fashion. The theme was essentially fashion in an over the top and exaggerated manner. The co-chairs of this years event were Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Serena Williams, Alessandro Michele, the creative director of Gucci,  as well as Anna Wintour, editor in chief of Vogue.

Stars like Katy Perry, who dresses as a chandelier, and Zendaya, who was dressed as Cinderella and had her very own fairy godmother walk the carpet with her, definitely followed the theme by wearing exaggerated fashions!

Take a look at some of these dresses that we would have worn if we went to the Met Gala in Manhattan this year!.

Jovani 61908 mixes patterns! This dress has a black, white and grey animal print base with flower on top of it! The color on this dress go so well together that is is not too over the top and it is still wearable!

Mac Duggal 4806m is another fun dress that would have been perfect to wear to the Met Gala. This dress has a halter neck, beaded bodice and deep back. The best, most fun part of this dress is the fringe skirt with the slit!
Mac Duggal 12145 is one of our favorites at Manhattan Dress! This stunning dress is elegant and whimsical. The sheer dress has ivory floral appliqué scattered across the dress and the attached cape. This dress is far from simple, but that is what makes it so great!
